Yesterday a couple of people in my squad were getting really annoyed by the constant spot spamming. One way how to get rid of it, is by removing the specific soundfiles in the common_client.zip.

Step 1.
Make a back-up of the common_client.zip which you will find in; ?:\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\fh2
Step 2.
Extract the common_client.zip to your desktop as common_client
Step 3.
In the extracted Sound folder go to FH2American\spotted and remove the 7 files (airplanes, armor etc). Repeat this process for the 5 other nationalities.
Step 4.
Select the; Material, Sky, Sound, terrain and textures folders and put them in a zip-archive named common_client
Step 5.
Copy this common_client.zip into your fh2 directory ( ?:\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\fh2) and replace the existing one.

You will still see the spotted text and the spot symbols on the minimap.
