Boost up BF2's graphics by using external software?
Hi guys,
Since the 24th of December I finally got my new videocard, a MSI GTX 460 Hawk.
And I've got to say, the card is a damn good upgrade. Now comes the part for the thing I want to see even better.
Is it possible to boost up BF2's graphics by using other software beside the game? 'Cause ingame settings are allready at their maximum.
'Cause having a good videocard means you have to pull the best graphics posible out of it .
So, anyone experience with this problem and does have a solution?

Note: I can say the card is a good improvement, 'cause I can fire a sniper rifle even better now, much sharper pictures then previous card, an Asus EN8600GT with custom cooler from Zalman.

You could try http://www.nhancer.com/ it also supports the GeForce GTX 4x0 lines. I used it in the past when I still had my 8800 though I did not see much improvement in the time.

Take a look in the NVIDIA control panel (right click your mouse on desktop)
It is in essence the same as the Nhancer tool and you can apply more settings in there than the BF2 game interface will allow. The Nhancer is just a community made version of the Nvidia CP. I did try it myself but found it to be just an over complex (and buggy) version off the Nvidia CP.
Go to the Nvidia CP and click Program Settings tab and then click BF2 and you will see the additional settings available, for instance you can apply up to 16x Anisotropic filtering and up to 32x Antialiasing (in Sli mode)
There is other settings that can be applied or de-apllied depending on what hardware you have or how a game is coded etc etc. (Texture Filtering, Triple Buffering, Vertical Sync and Treaded Optmistaion etc etc)
I have acheived some good results with it , if you do set it right the game can look totally awesome, it's just a trade off between looks and performance, you have to fiddle with it and find the balance.
You should check the Global Settings tab aswell, because if I remember rightly the driver is set to Dual monitor mode from default.
You have got the latest Nvidia driver i guess ?

@ Moose:
I can't seem to find where you're talking about. Below is the picture of how my main Nvidia CP looks like.
The driver version I use is: 260.99. And the CP version is: 3.4.772.04.

Thanks Moose, found it and allready adapted bf2.exe. Do I also need to change fh2.exe or only bf2.exe?
Re: Boost up BF2's graphics by using external software?

Okay, yesterday I played with the new settings. Everything stood at max settings, and no damn lag. Pretty good i guess.
But as much as I can tell, it doesn't have a large improvement in what I hoped it would have been. But this still lokks better without, a little bit sharper and clearer, esspecially the scope is much better. Now I don't have problems killing tango's from 3 meters distance from the screen.
Thanks for the help Moose.
